I only had peppermint castille soap so dropped the essential oils. It does smell FABULOUS compared to the bleach smell of the other stuff! And cleans GREAT! Thanks for sharing!

Hi Carolyn–the little bit of castile soap in this recipe is there to act as an emulsifier. The actual cleaning is done by the vinegar, alcohol ans essential oils. You can replace the soap with vegetable glycerin or, since you have to still shake the cleaner before and during use, you can leave it out entirely and it will still work great. If Vinegar unsaponifies castile soap why does it work in the ALL Purpose Cleaner?
I ask because I am going to use this in a presentation and I don’t want to contradict myself!

You’re welcome Farrah! I have seven homemade cleaners that have
replaced 19 store bought ones and at a fraction of the price. Doing a cleaning cabinet makeover will not only save you a lot of money but it will rid your house of so many toxic chemicals. It’s a win-win. Go for it, girl!

Thanks Ana Lynn! Good job on ridding your house of toxic chemicals. I have to say that this soft cleanser is one of my favorites so it’s a good place to start. It works wonders on sinks, toilets, tubs or anywhere you would use Comet. Walking away from store-bought cleaners has been so empowering. Keep up the good work!

Wow! I clicked over from SITS and I have to say that I am super impressed! I am trying slowly to replace the chemicals we use for cleaning and I will definitely give this a try!
